Knicks use Pistons’ miscues to spark 21-0 run in Game 1 win

In a dramatic Game 1 of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the New York Knicks overcame a late deficit to defeat the Detroit Pistons 123–112, thanks to a stunning 21–0 run in the fourth quarter. ​

Key Performers:

  • Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 34 points, including eight during the decisive run.
  • Cameron Payne contributed 14 points off the bench, with 11 coming in the final period.
  • Karl-Anthony Towns recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds in his Knicks playoff debut.
  • OG Anunoby added 23 points, 19 of which came in the first half.

The Pistons, who had led 98–90 with just over nine minutes remaining, were undone by a series of turnovers and missed opportunities. Cade Cunningham tallied 21 points and 12 assists but also committed six turnovers. Tobias Harris led Detroit with 25 points. ​

With this victory, the Knicks take a 1–0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 2 is scheduled for Monday night at Madison Square Garden.​
